The move to Matchroom has been a disaster. Got persuaded to drop his belt, got knocked out and now stuck in limbo. Had a good ring walk at Headingley though which is what really matters.
Kid Galahad is tied up with the Martinez fight for now. So given how the second fight with Lara ended, you'd think a third fight with Lara would make sense. If Warrington is as confident of beating Lara as he seemed to be leading up to their second encounter and wants to try and avenge being knocked out in their first fight, you'd think Lara III is the fight he would be pushing for. Isn't it ironic? One of the few times where a rematch (or in this case, a rematch of the rematch) would actually make decent sense, and Marchroom baulk at the prospect of making that fight.
Why would he talk about Lara if we wants to get out soon? Lara will be out for a while because of that horrendous cut. He's done a full camp for a short-lived fight that never got going. They're most likely looking to get him out again in a tick over then make the Lara 3 fight in the early part of next year.
He's surrounded himself with that many nut-huggers that he can no longer think straight. He claims Selby's cut was 10 times worse and that Lara's corner used a cotton bud to prise his cut open before calling the ref over.
Tick over? He says he doesn't have to fight eliminators because he's "done everything right". Isn't quitting a World title to avoid his mandatory what every champion does?
Most fighters will chase the pound note so no surprise he did what he did..... Galahad isn't a draw. It went tits up with Lara and the rematch ended in disaster when it never got going. He should keep active, get another fight in this year if possible then when Lara's available get the 3rd fight on and look to put things right.
Should have moved up. Only 4lbs difference and could have got a shot at the Fuzile-Ogawa winner for the IBF belt. Looks like Joe Cordina or Zelfa Barrett will get that now.
Unless he's chucked in a keep busy on one of the December cards late on the silence is weird. Surely they should be talking of a 3rd fight if they wanted it?
