No idea personally why Josh Warrington still continues, other than for money, he has been absolutely shot to bits since the first Lara loss in 2021. But boxing is a dangerous game when you are that shot. Its now 5 years on from that. He has has 4 losses from his last 6 fights, and has not had a notable win since 2019 against Kid Galahad. Leigh Wood wins again via KO.
Wish they would stop forcing women's boxing on to us, I can't stand it. It's crap and instantly brings down the event atmosphere
It’s going under the radar this. As mentioned above, I’d say both men are both shot to bits. So difficult yto say but you’d make Wood favourite to stop Josh. That being said Josh has a few years on Leigh so who knows. If it’s close and goes Josh’s way, wouldn’t be surprised to see a trilogy in either a Leeds or Nottingham stadium in the summer/early autumn.
Going against the grain and backing Warrington here; I felt he was well in the ascendancy in the first bout before he got caught and stopped. As others have rightly said both fighters are deep in their decline, but I don't think you can really say either one is further gone than the other; although if you judge it by their respective performances against Cacace then perhaps Wood is further gone.
Josh has the better engine and is stronger. Also he's the better fighter. Leigh I's the better boxer. Josh has slightly more miles on the clock but leigh is 2 or 3 years older. I want josh to win but, It's a 50/50 for me..also should be a real fun fight.
Maybe this is wishful thinking for another big night of boxing, but I don’t see Wood–Warrington 2 being anything in-between. Either Warrington tries to stay out of trouble and nick rounds for 12, or it turns into a total barnstormer. For Warrington to win he basically has to box the perfect fight, because if Wood’s chin hasn’t vanished overnight the first fight showed he only needs one moment to end it. I’m actually looking forward to this more than I expected, especially with Garcia–Barrios later.
This is one of them fights what doesn’t mean much and both are past their best so many would turn their nose up. Who cares though? As long as a fight is evenly matched, elite level, very bad level and everything in between can make for a great spectacle. Always say I’d watch two fat 10 year olds scrap in the playground if it was even. Far better than them mis match filled PPVs you pay ‘ only the price of a pizza’
Glad someone else said that. Warrington was always a hard listen but he's making Chisora sound like a novice just now. I fear for the guy, that Lara KO absolutely ruined him and all the head-first boxing all these years (particularly if he did it in sparring too) will have taken a toll.
