Magnitude of the fight/opponent and timing.
The 20000 was Selby at elland rd challenging for a world title. The footy season was over and there was a lot of good promotion both in the boxing world and on things like local tv/radio sports news. Actually there was about 22000 there that day. The build up with Josh and Lee had been stirring for a couple of years.
The 12,000 was Frampton, there was about 18000 on the arena that night and about 2 thirds were there for Josh. The thing why the nos were lower was the time of the year, 22nd Dec is a hard sell.
The 10,000 is kid at the arena. It was sold out, for boxing it only holds that no. Kid sold 160 of those tickets the rest was done by people coming to see Josh.
That's it really. That's why the numbers are coming down, it's not really a case of people getting less interested in watching Josh.
Doofus is very selective when he talks about Josh, you get half a story from him, riddled with self bias. His mate bent nose is the same, in fact it's probably the same person.

After his wins over Selby and Frampton there was a lot of interest in him. Only Warrington's close family and friends could argue that there is the same interest.
You've got me all wrong. I was ambivalent about Warrington until his Selby press conferences. It's a boxing forum. Not everybody has to love "Josh" as much as you do.

If the fight was as big as Selby or Frampton with as big a name as them then the interest would be just the same.
And not everyone has to hate him as much as you do. You've got real issues doofus, you don't even know the lad and you hate on him at every opportunity. It really isn't healthy ya know.

Leeds being good at football again means fans not needing him to chase glory...plus he's gone from the slick sky machine to Warren promotions.

It's not though. He's fighting the no.118 in the world hence the interest in him is minimal. Only one of Warrinton's close family or friends would deny this.

Warrington is a perfect example of a guy that overachieved (or went above most expectations). I had both Selby and Frampton beating him quite easily before fight night. Proved me wrong on both occasions. Galahad gave him a few problems but still he won fair and square. He's also after making a few bob and will live comfortably for the rest of his life if hes clever. He's entitled to a soft fight after the last 3 hes had. The reason for the drop in ticket sales is obvious, either timing or else caliber of opponent. In this instance its the caliber of opponent

Badly promoted in regards to public awareness/commercially. Had excellent matchmaking though.

His opponent isn't actually that bad, only lost to 2 guys, never stopped and can quite clearly box, he's hardly Peter Buckley.

The thing with Warrington is hes focused on a Leeds fan base. Most the country couldn't care less about Leeds. 20 miles down the road its not going to warm you to him! Big fish small pond. Only so many people who will want to watch him time and time again.

He'll be off to the US for any big fights.
