Of course not. He was shot as hell. What I was implying was where was all the criticism for Pac for fighting a shot De La Hoya BEFORE the fight.

Nobody's fault but Oscar for coming in that shape. You sign a contract to fight you come in at your best shape. Don't put the blame on the other fighter, especially after the fact.

I agree, Manny took on the most dangerous fight possible when agreeing to fight Oscar, but with him weighing in at 147 on fight night...it makes the fight worthless.

That's just the sport of boxing. It's such an unforgiving sport that when you lose, you can't think of anything but excuses and bitterness.

You don't hear many excuses in team sports. Imagine this. Last year, the Celtics beat the Bulls in a playoff series. It would've been funny if Bulls fans said "if this was the 95-96 team we woulda whooped your ass!!!!11".

Yes. I think that fight could have been more exciting had Oscar dropped the weight properly. Oscar made 147 weeks before the fight and stayed there, losing muscle and shrunk his stomach, therefore the little gain after the weigh in. Roach said Oscar should have stayed around 150 until a few days before weigh in and then sweated and spit the rest off, like how ALL boxers do it to cut weight. Manny I thought would have still won though with the tactic he employed that night. It would have been nice to see Oscar throw more punches and actually use his legs to go after Manny.

He is too much of a cash cow to risk losing, so he is protected. The catch weights and his carefully selected opponents makes me feel this way.

Juan Manuel Lopez against Mtawga showed what happens when a fighter fights below his natural weight class.

I'll always maintain that Oscar bludgeons Pacquiao if he is in any fit state to fight. Too big. Oscar wouldn't have beaten a top 10 Welter that night.
