Oscar Mata vs. somebody, 8 rounds @ super bantamweight

This has been a fun brawl despite tuning in more than halfway through and having no clue as to combatant's identity. (then again, no different from watching most Thai undercards)

 

Mata seemed to get the best of the action I saw. (from about midway into the 6th until the end)

Cristalito was apparently coming off a 2 year layoff for his sophomore effort, huh.

 

Alain "El Gemelo" Pérez vs. Luis "Kochul" Sánchez, quantity of rounds @ weight class

 

I found Pérez, he's a featherweight with a 6-0 (4) record.

Sánchez is 4-1-1 (1).

This is probably a 6-rounder, as that is the distance both have been campaigning at lately.

 

Where tf is everybody?!?! I found some Thursday night fisticuffs! (after the Ferguson vs. Muñoz thing didn't pan out)

AND LITERALLY EVERYONE IS MEXICAN. Lower-tier, scrappy lighter weight Mexicans hungry to rise up to mid-card status or scuffle for national belts.

This is all-around slugfests guaranteed.

 

Two zip Pérez, more aggressive, sharper with the jab, actually incorporates the odd duck & weave into his repertoire as opposed to Sánchez just looping bombs, pawing jabs and standing pat with loose guard and no head movement.

 

Whoever the DJ @ the Salón de Eventos Monterrey is has been playing badass metal (like, actual thrash) all night in between rounds & fights.

 

So that was a 4-rounder apparently...

Furthermore, it appears Sánchez took it on points. I didn't catch the scores.

Weird. Twice so far the guy it kind of seemed to me should've been ahead ended up losing on the official cards.

Pérez didn't seem to mind or appear surprised, though, he applauded when the scores were read and Sánchez's hand raised.
