    Round 8

Rodríguez is slaying Estrada with that right hand but the lanky man is proving extremely durable (obviously, since he's unexpectedly still hanging around in the eighth). Rodríguez timing him with it every time Estrada opens up with a jab. Estrada has taken up a new tactic of keeping his right arm bent and just slashing down with it like a machete up close whenever Rodríguez braves the inside. Estrada is hurt or fouled at one point - not clear if the ref is giving him a count or recovery time. Either way, doesn't take very long. Time in. Estrada seems to realize there's no screening out the right hand so he's keeping the left jab sheathed and mostly pinning the glove to his face to absorb some of the impact. He's mostly hacking away down on Rodríguez's head with that bent right. 1-2s launched high over the protective left glove by Rodríguez, scoring cleanly. Estrada tough, not backing down.

    10-9 Rodríguez

    Round 9

Rodríguez is tearing up the body and starting to jab Estrada intentionally on the left wrist and forearm, hoping to bring down that shield to get at his face. Estrada winging hard lariat rights while taking a step backward to get some breathing room & improve his punching range, a little smothered up close. Rodríguez is jabbing nicely over the guard of Estrada but getting wild on the follow-up, windmilling his right hand, ew, very ugly. Estrada puts his arms up in the air following a mid-range exchange which he knows he got the worst of, but I think he's winning over the crowd and definitely has earned back the respect of Rodríguez despite being a feather-fist.

    10-9 Rodríguez

    Round 10

Both men touch gloves after the bell appreciatively. Rodríguez is knifing his jab up into the neck, chin, and upper chest of Estrada. Window-wiper action from Estrada with his arms, trapping Rodríguez's left glove between them and yanking him into awkward clinches, wrenching his left arm. Estrada with some sloppy sustained body flurries up close. Rodríguez also arm-weary, pumping 1-2s at mid-range but Estrada easily blocking them. WHOO, big overhand right by Estrada got a piece of Rodríguez. Moments later a flurry seems to stun Rodríguez! Estrada getting a second (or at this point dozenth) wind, pouring on the pressure with jabs unfurled on the nose, left hooks on the liver, slapping combos all up and down Rodríguez's sides and head! Rodríguez just weathering the storm, has COMPLETELY punched himself out in the previous nine rounds.

10-9 Estrada, hell of a finish for the weight-drained beanstalk underdog.

    Whaaaaaaaaaaaat.

Seriously, did every single judge in Monterrey pregame with a "who can guzzle the most tequila" competition before coming to work?

Every single bout on this card was high entertainment followed by perplexing verdicts!

I mean, sure, I missed the 4th through 7th rounds, but even had they been a clean sweep for Estrada that would still make it 95-94 for Titan on my card with the knockdown making the difference. I don't think any of the rounds I gave Rodríguez (the first three, including a 10-8, plus 8 & 9) were even remotely competitive enough to be hanging in the balance or swing the other way.

Credit to Potro for making the distance (which - and don't take my word for it, you can ask UTF too - seemed highly implausible after three) and for nearly taking a tiring Rodríguez out in the final minutes, though. I can't wrap my head around how they gave him the nod, but he did well to hang in there and stand up to all of Titan's best stuff and never wavered, just kept making little adjustments to keep himself in the fight.

He must have one heck of an interesting story, too. He debuted in 2009 and fought thrice in 2010, compiling a 3-1 (2) record at featherweight (the loss to Óscar "Finito" González, a solid Mexican domestic battler signed to Canelo Promotions who tragically passed away due to brain injuries sustained in his last fight in 2014 with Jesús Galicia), and then vanished off the face of the earth for six years, made a comeback all the way down at super fly and drew with a 2-3 guy, then moved up to bantam and lost to a guy making his debut, then finished off his bizarre 2016 dropping back down to super fly to win a MD over a guy with a losing record, and then last May leapt up to feather again to knock out a 1-1-1 guy.

And then a ten month layoff before tonight. Wild ride.

Well, you can still watch the full replay of the card, minus rounds 4 & 5 (and half of six) of the main event.

The replacement stream actually went up about five minutes before I found it, but it still would've been impossible to score the entire fight RBR as there was an eleven or twelve minute gap before Warriors Boxing identified & corrected the problem.
