Holmes, Dokes, Smith, Witherspoon, Cooney, Coetzee, Shavers and Weaver all decent fighters, yes it wasn’t the best era, but is it the wasteland that it’s made out to be?

You’re rating it on potential. You don’t respect potential. You respect results.

Maybe a couple guys at the top, but I've also seen certain guys from the era get vastly overrated.

Where is it made out to be a wasteland? Maybe 78-82, when it was a bit in transition and Cooney seemed to be the most talented contender, but we never got to see him against a live body except Holmes.

I think most are fairly high on the skill that guys like Dokes, Page, Witherspoon, Thomas and Tubbs could exhibit, but they were just so inconsistent. And Holmes said "thanks, but no" to most of them, so don't know how much they belong to the Holmes's era.

Bunch of very talented underachievers. Take it how you will type of thing basically.
