Yes the title is a little misleading, no one expected Abril to do that well, but lets think about this. Lou DiBella shows the way promoters can sway the judges, discussed in a different thread. Don't know when this was said but only saw it yesterday. http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showthread.php?t=327318 Through out the whole fight Rios is smiling even though clearly losing in my eye every round. At the end he celebrates even though any sane man knows he has lost this fight by a land slide. Pretty much everyone (people on the forum, twitter and commentators) were wondering could there be a robbery. Was a robbery always Rios'/Top Ranks plan B, because he certainly didn't bring one to the ring, how much did boxing insiders know about this?
Of course it was. Look at the cards. Look at what transpired before that. They were already filled out beforehand. :deal Roth's and Trowbridge's, anyway. Shame, because they're experienced championship judges. Sad to see them bought.
My heart actually sank slightly it was the worst robbery I've ever seen, I am a fan of the boxer and Abril outlanded Rios every round, yeah maybe should have lost a point for holding but that was a straight up UD by at least 10 points per judge. Is Roth the vegas judge notorious for dodgy cards?
