any1 who doesnt respect kostya as a great great fighter maybe the best in the last 25 years needs their head checked! he had it all ,although he was a slow starter to fights as the zab judah fight showed perfectly the way he stalked him the full 2nd round, the only fault i put on kostyas career was the decision not top come out for the end of the fight with hatton,he had enough savy in the ring to muster the energy to get through even though he had a fractured cheekbone and was exhausted ,i believe he could still have pulled it off and kept his crown with a draw. all in all though a fantastic fighter, sportsman ,and true gentleman, the kind you want your sons to look up to as a role model.
I don't rochs, funny thing is, when I registered on the boards I was stuck for a username, and the top thread in the British forum at the time (and therefore visible from the front page) was about Young Muttley, so I used 'muttley' as my username! You're an ex-pro - I do recall reading some of your posts in the British forum, and I see that you've officially retired? Good on you mate, tough game boxing :good
this is a great video of tszyu for any1 doubting his class. http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=23dS7mKe6tY
'chill with the middle school disses'? Who are you, Snoop Doggy Dawg? :rofl Tszyu was an excellent boxer, had power above his weight, had excellent ring generalship, could take a punch, and had impeccable timing. How's that idiot boy? Or is that too middle school for you? Now howzabout you explain to everyone how DLH, PBF and SSM all 'wipe the floor' with Tszyu. Come on big fella, the floor's all yours :hey
I can understand fully why some people are discrediting Tszyu in this thread, if you haven't got any intelectual ammo left to discredit a fighter with the best bet is to rag on his best win.
This (the degrading of Tszyu) isn't quite as bad as the yanks (well a fair number of them) rating Lewis below Holyfield, but it is still embarrassing for them.
This is fact, not opinion: Kostya Tszyu is a great fighter and will be inducted to the boxing hall of fame. He unified a division one belt at a time. This is opinion: Anyone who thinks that Tszyu would be beaten easily by anyone is a dickhead. He was never beaten soundly, both his losing efforts were hard, tough give and take affairs and in my opinion Tszyu in his best form couldnt be a large underdog against anyone in his division. Also, this whole idea that a boxers prime is a set amount of time in their life is a load of ****, things such as strategy, focus, training and personal issues make each fight different from one another and to think that Tszyu was in his prime vs. Phillips is ignorance. Just the fact that many boxers and knowledgable writers thought he was special says enough. He doesnt need a bunch of ****heads to **** all over his whole legacy because of his losses. Clearly.
u dont no a damn about this sport dont u? DLH is at his best against Pressure fighter and Floyd beat Castillo 2X times who in my book was on the same level as kosta tszyu.
no sense in arguing with them bro.... fact is tsyzu lost to hatton & phillips tszyu beat judah, bum leg mitchell, old a$$ chavez Yet he would beat DLH, Mosley, and PBF sorry you guys are on the pipe.... Tsyzu was too robotic to even land a punch on PBF Tsyzu wasn't strong enough to keep mosley off of him DLH would have knocked him out ... tszyu wouldn't have gotten past dlh jab
One off night against Phillips doesn't mean he automatically loses to every name American out there. Kostya is one of the most skilled fighters of the past decade, despite being from outside the Americas.
