He was a more complete fighter than GGG. He was very strong with good speed. His footwork was ridiculous along with his head moving. Fantastic fighter. Yes he was better and would have reigned supreme at middleweight if he would have to stayed healthy.
Meh pure speculation. The answer is: he had the potential to be great. How great, we don't know. What we do know is that there are many what ifs in boxing history.
No. His best win was a KO win over Jacobs just prior to being diagnosed with spinal cancer. His 2nd best win was a competitive decision win over Ishida. While GGG was 19-0-1 (18) by KO in middleweight title defense's. If they fought when they were going to,we wouldn't even discussing this because GGG would have taken care of business. He was a very good fighter though, but one is proven and the other is speculation.
Jacobs with cancer and Jacobs without cancer, are two different Jacobs. They fought the same Ashida and look what happened.
Couldnt put a dent in Canelo but could knockout heavys? I like GGG and sadly his physical prime was wasted with lack of opponents but this sort of hyperbole is nonsense.
Depends on how good his chin was. If it was above average (and I tend to think it may well have been) then yeah, but he was too unproven to actually know for sure. Definitely more skilled, but that's not everything.
What are you basing this off of? The Jacobs fight, the Ishida fight, or the Jantuah fight? Thats really all you have to work with. I can see him possibly defeating most GGG'S challengers if he could have stayed healthy and maintained the weight for that many title defenses, but that's a big if, and it would take great discipline and he might only stop maybe 20 % of them if that. Once he got to Jacobs and Canelo he would have a good chance of losing. If Pirog defeated GGG'S title defense apponents with 10 to 20 % KO ratio he would be getting praised for his greatness and resume but when GGG blows them away they are now bums.
