Adamek was an awesome cruiserweight, and very good light heavyweight. He was/is a fraudulent heavy. :sad2
Yea, but that was a past his prime Golota Adamek destroyed just as Golota kept low blowing a past his prime Bowe. Golota was outboxing Bowe beautifully no need for low hitting.
+1 Over achiever may be a better term. The money is at heavy so he followed it. He came in trying and gave it his all. More than we can say for some that may have had more raw talent.
I was ringside for Wlad vs. Haye. Not an exciting fights by any means but the disparity in skill wasn't half as big as in Vitali vs. Adamek. Haye fought the younger, currently stronger brother and still looked better.
Eye of the beholder I guess. Adamek came to fight. Haye came to collect a paycheck. Not really open to discussion on this one. Put up a poll and fight fans will say Haye is the fraud. Sure he'll get some fan boy votes of support but true boxing fans in the UK will give the nod to Adamek if have to choose who is the warrior of the two.
Adamek is a warrior but not a HW . Look for Huck to get hiss ass KOed next. Not everyone can do it like Holy
The question wasn't whether Adamek was a HW or not. Like I said, over achiever chasing the money. He believed in his chances but by his own admission knew by the second round that it wasn't gonna happen for him. Didn't stop him from trying. In my book that makes him deluded, not a fraud. He contracted to fight and did so. He knew he would disappoint his fans if he didn't. He was rewarded with a beating for it so I guess for someone to call him a fraud is just a tad more than I care to stomach at the moment. Interesting tag line under the avatar. Should I read anything into that? :think
Adamek's Heavyweight resume isn't stacked with great talent, but then again the Heavyweight landscape doesn't offer much. I applaud him for fighting and staying active, but it's not like anybody was touting him as the next big thing. The days of tough contenders like Ken Nortion, Ron Lyle, and Ray Mercer are a thing of the past.
