Do you think AJ didn`t want to appear on tonights broadcast of the show because the public didn`t vote for him after he beat Wlad or was it because Fury was there speaking?

    Who cares.

I've got more respect for the ones that don't turn up to these snobby, elitist shows.

I`m not sure what to make of that comment, AJ is a big part of British boxing now and deserves respect I feel.

U said he snubbed the show. So he was respected enough by the sporting toffs to get an invite.

He’s probably still in New York. Why would he fly back especially for an award show he’s not even nominated for? Would be a bit weird.

I cannot believe people voted for the netball on the sporting moment. It was a great moment okay, but like...if it was a normal netball gold win it'd be nowhere near the top of the voting. It's only because they won in the last second and some commentators screaming and the fact the BBC hyped it up like it was the greatest win of all time that they actually won the vote. Tyson Fury should have had that in the bag hands down.

And once again, the 6 nominees. I'm sorry, but if this is about personality there's only 2 people in the UK that have a proper one. That is Ronnie O Sullivan and Tyson Fury. NEITHER of them were even in those 6 nominees, and what both of those guys did easily destroys the likes of Jimmy Anderson and Dina Asher Smith. It's complete nonsense. Jimmy Anderson did nothing as a cricketer this year, a single stat got him in there. Pathetic. Dina Asher Smith, don't even get me started. She faced nobodies at that tournament. The Jamaicans would have eaten her up for breakfast and everybody and their dog knows it.

Harry Kane won a golden boot after scoring most of his goals through penalties. I acknowledge you have to have him in there but like...what did he do when facing the very top opposition in Croatia, Belgium and Colombia? He went missing, that's what.

Lewis Hamilton, fair enough. Can't argue with that one. Neither can I argue with Geraint Thomas. Same with Lizzy Yarnold.

I can understand them leaving out AJ but even he did more than Jimmy Anderson and Dina Asher Smith.

We all know the reason why the BBC didn't want Fury in that list of 6. Because of how he portrayed them a few years back, basically hating on the BBC. They knew FOR A FACT that Tyson Fury would have won that by a landslide and it would have been embarrassing for them, so they chucked him out. It's a disgrace.

Sums up the BBC: A show largely featuring events they don't broadcast is one of their most important nights of the year... celebrating the achievements of rival networks who actually show sport people are interested in...

Anyone who snubs that joke of an awards show is alright in my books.

Yes, but the public didn`t vote for him to win, so maybe he was making a statement to the mainstream casual public.

If he had been given the verdict and title then he suerly would have been nominated, but most of the general public in Britain wouldn`t have seen Fury`s fight with Wilder because it was on PPV that`s why AJ didn`t win it after he beat Wlad, he didn`t even get third place.

Tyson, Ronnie, Jimmy. In any order. Love them all.

We all know what Tyson has done/come back from, but Ronnie and Jimmy have been at the top of their game for years and years, and both have broken records this year.

But oh no, some lycra wearing stick insect wins it for riding up a few hills for a couple of weeks. Typical BBC shite.

The show is utterly horrendous these days and unless there's a pressing reason to attend I'd swerve it if I were AJ or any other sportsperson for that matter. Many years ago it was a good watch. Basically just a load of sportspeople in a studio watching Coleman/Vine/Lynam or similar introduce some clips as a review of the year in sport. At the end there was an award, everyone clapped and that was that. Now there's tens of thousands of people whipped into hysteria in an arena watching smug, self satisfied presenters fellating each and every person who may have laced up a boot or broke into a trot in the last 12 months. Watching it comes somewhere on my list of things to do between having my eyes eaten by fire ants and eating the Golden Gate Bridge.
