    Calzaghe Lacyied Lacy, everyone knows this.

    Two world champion meeting yet, yet, when the fight started it showed a massive gulf in skillset between the two.

    Sir Joe decimating lacy by wide wide UD, winning every rd.

    ===================================

    Pac done the same with Algieri. A deserved world champion that was fast, tall and rangy with great boxing skillset. Yet when it started

    Pac lacyied champion Algieri by knocking his ass 6 times with the widest scorecard eva.

    discuss. and give me some other examples of boxers being Lacyied?

    Algieri is arguably Pac's best win. I can't see anyone else 140-147 beating him.

    I don't think Algieri had enough proof or other fights to say he was going big places

    Also I don't think his beating was as bad

    Algieri was out gunned and outclassed but not batter severely

    Only the one knockdown in 9 was devastating

    Yes he was. However Lacy is several levels above Algieri. Lacy was an Olympian with 1-punch power in both fist, an iron chin. Lacy had a REAL team.

    Algieri is a kickboxer, who is featherfisted. He has clowns for corner man. Algieri is a nice guy thou.

    Lacy had a lot of hype. People really thought he was gonna destroy Calzaghe. No one really though Algeri would win.

    Example Lacy was a 1.61 favorite and the odds opened at even....

    Algeri opened at like a 1 to 5 underdog or something like that...

    Most posters on ESB with a brain called this fight a disgrace and a massive mismatch. Lacy did look like a monster before his fight with Calzaghe, even though he did prove to be no more than a paper tiger. Still - a good win for Joe, probably in his top 3. Algieri is probably isn't in the top 15 of Manny wins.

    Algieri almost got Corrales'd/Dzinziruk'd... That is to say both of them were victims of 5 knockdowns and a late stoppage.

    Technically Algieri was knocked down 6 times but two of them were obvious slips on the corner stickers. I'm surprised more people aren't talking about that. It was utterly irrelevant in the grand scheme, but at the time of that first KD in round 2 it was a major buzz kill for old man Genaro (ref) to not notice either of the clear slips.
