Usually, when Holmes was hurt, he was trading back, not clinching. He wasn't much of a clincher at all.

There’s a reason you haven’t seen highlights or rarely hear about Frazier vs Ali 2. Ali clinched more than Wlad did against Povetkin making the fight unwatchable. He definitely mastered the clinch style.

I think that's a little bit too much.

I've watched it recently. Wasn't more than Wlad vs Povetkin.

The difference is Ali initiated all those clinches in Wlad vs Povetkin both fighters initiated clinches

This is literally just saying both clinched but because I like Ali more its okay when he does it (btw Ali had a size advantage against both of his opponents as well)

Poverkin was charging in head first into Wlad's chest/arm pit and initiating a lot of the clinches himself. After feeling Wlad's power with those early knockdowns he didn't want to stand and trade.

That's all true, but still Klitschko clinched a lot more than Ali in the Frazier rematch.

go back and count clinches initiated by Ali vs Frazier then count the clinches initiated by Klitschko vs Povetkin ( not including clinches initiated by the opposing fighter.) then after counting from both fights come back with a count ill do the same and see who initiated more clinches.. ( I have already done this BTW but will do it again ) you are going to be surprised.
remember when Povetkin dives in and wraps his arm immediately around Klitschko's back that is Povetkin clinching.
Link below is just a small example part of round 7 tell me who initiates more clinches here just to get you warmed up.

Yeah people romance Ali vs Frazier 2 without going back and objectively watching it, It was an historical fight but not a pretty one.
