Was ali scared to fight Lenny McLean?

    6'3 255lbs. Lenny called ali out in a REAL fight, bare knuckle boxing. No gloves, no gum sheild, no rest breaks, no grappling. 1 vs 1 until the first person gets K.O'd or quits. I do believe ali was scared of this man in a real fight.

    Why would ali be scared of a guy like that? normal people like us would be but the heavyweight champion of boxing? the technique alone would cause him to go lights out within a few minutes.

    Why didn't ali prove himself then? Lenny has had bare knuckle PRIZE fights, people putting up 100k.

    This is a real fight not a boxing match with fluffy gloves and rest breaks. You can't "dance", you have to fight.

    Agreed. In real life a Lenny could walk up to ali, smack his wife on the butt and spit on his face and ali wouldn't do ****.

    Really? I think people underestimate how much of a difference there is between big strong guys and pro boxers, a guy like maidana would drop 220 guys left and right if he wanted to in a club for example, its skills.
    Im not saying thats the case here but I seriously doubt ali in his prime gets his ass kicked by a rough bouncer bare knuckle fighter in a street fight and would be scared as well.

    Nah! Lenny was actually a very nice guy, he'd never do such a thing. My friends mother knew him for many years and said he was a cracking fella. Then again, she knew the Krays too:D

    This is a bare knuckle street fight not a boxing match. If a guy as big as lenny cracked an average sized person on the head he would smash their skull into pieces. Also this guy was not just a bouncer, he boxed in the ring and outside for money. He knows how to throw.

    I have to admit I dont know the guy very well, just a short read since im not English.
    But im still not certain, I feel the same way when people say a guy like badr hari would destroy wlad.
    If that mclean guy had boxing skills it changes things a lot but I still doubt a man like ali with all his speed and technique would just get his ass kicked in a street fight cause a guy is very tough, ali was no ***** either, he could take punishment and get trough when it got tough, he was vicous in his prime as well.
    Im pretty sure nobody would favour this guy over a prime tyson in a street fight cause of his mosnter image.
