Was ali scared to fight Lenny McLean?

That's what I'm saying. Ali was never one to fight on the inside. He was never known for "going for the kill" so to speak, but rather sticking to staying in a safe range to utilize his boxing. He is a pure boxer. You get plenty of boxers who are also fighters. That's why Ali would not do well against McLean in a street fight. Against you or me? Sure, he'd probably whoop us.

Like I said, if it were guys like Liston, Foreman, Tyson, Dempsey, Bowe or Joe Louis, then for sure, they would murder Lenny. However Ali doesn't fight like those guys.

Theres a massive difference between fightin some shams in the street than actually fighting a trained fighter. McLean was an absolutely intimidating fella but I agree with you 100%. Yes and he took several rounds to "ko" both of them (even though they were TKO's and the Liston knockout is highly suspect). Real fights don't last a couple of rounds, they last a couple of seconds. Ali is no street fighter. His way of fighting would work great in the ring, but wouldn't translate well to a street fight.
