The funny thing is though I remember reading Lenny's book, he still claims in it that he was undefeated and was never beaten once in both the street and ring.

As far as Ali/Inoki goes...

The reason that Inoki crab walked is that he was completely straightjacket by the rules that Ali's people insisted on after they balked the proposed worked finish and then saw Inoki training.

Inoki was barred from throwing, grappling or tackling Ali and he wasn't allowed to kick unless he had one knee on the mat. So, he faced a choice of boxing Ali or doing what he did.

Also, before anyone gets excited. Inoki was Karl Gotch trainer shooter. He was an entirely different kettle of fish to McLean. I don't think Ali insisting on special rules in a bout with Inoki means much when it comes to discussing the prospect of Ali scarping with McLean.
