Was all that glovetapping a survival tactic?

    Yeah deffo..

When Shane pushed Pac over, Pac looked angry, but was tryna laugh it off, Shane puts his hands up, like, 'i don't know' - I think then Shane was thinking, 'Oh ****' - He knew Pacman would come for him then.

It really ****ed me off that, despite the money they were earning, they were more concerned about showing respect at every opportunity than fighting.

In boxing it is a sign of respect not a sign of cowardice nor is it a sign that the fighter is asking for leniency. During the course of the fight several incidents occurred such as bash of heads or a push or a hold then break although it is very seldom used in the excess we saw on saturday night. to say shane Mosley was somehow scared is an insult to his legacy the man has been fighting since childhood and has fought the best in the world without a backward step. so dont take his apparent showing of respect for anything other than that.

shane is old, yeah he fought to survive, I dont think he planned on it before the fight but once he got in there and dropped subconsciously realized there is no chance.

Hes fought ****ing everyone already, fought Winky when he didnt have to and could have taken an easier fight, that was a huge risk that many guys wouldnt have taken.

That is a pretty valid criticism.

Yup. I thought the same thing... Shane didn't want to throw anything with intent so pacquiao wouldn't come at him with some hard combinations.

Pacquiao bought into the glove tapping cause he is a nice guy. Shane was looking for sympathy tbh, 'don't hit me'. I mean tapping gloves after being KD is ridiculous in a world title fight...

I honestly believe Pacquiao didn't want to hurt Shane, the ferociousness of Pacquiao wasn't there. He had a man in front of him who didn't want to fight... what can he do?

These guys didn't want to fight, end of.

I watched Mosley v Phillip Holiday yesterday and Shane was just a completely different animal. No glove touching, pushing his opponent around, roughing him up.... he showed absolutely no respect to opponents at that stage of his career.

He did it in the Winky fight too! I specifically remember Winky's corner yelling at him to stop touching gloves and that they can be friends after the fight. Birmingham was getting pissed:lol:

i remember a couple times it really pissing me off! especially a couple times i remember the ref hadnt even stopped the action and hes going to tap gloves! But manny is equally guilty. He should have taken the opportunity. Protect yourself at all times pac should have taken advantage

the whole fight stank a bit of a glorified sparring session :fire

I agree. Seems like he can't really be bothered to hit someone in the face anymore and just does enough to win the round..:/
