Was Antonio Margarito innocent?

yes he was. anyone who examines the evidence, and is honest about it, can see there was no "plaster" in his wraps.

 

Anyone that knew Antonio Margarito KNOWS he was innocent. He was a genuine bad ass in the ring but a nice guy outside. Cotto never said a word about loaded gloves till that lying POS Richardson started that" Plaster Blocks" fell from his wraps. Ive tried he refuses to talk about it. I asked a CSAC rep what happened to the Plaster Blocks? He just said "Read the lab reports on the pads" I said I did & they deemed them HARMLESS" but the CSAC didnt include the Harmless part in their press release did they. He shrugged his shoulder & said " Cant tell you I wasnt personally involved in it." & walked away

 

Shane Mosley was likely juiced to the gills, but that’s brushed over.

I don’t Paul Williams would’ve taken his power if he packed bricks to every fight.

 

Kirk the CSAC inspector was right there watching them wrapped He passed & signed off on them. Then Richardson started his BS about he hadnt seen them wrapped & they felt hard. Demanded them removed Tony said OK held up his hands. Thats when the infamous PLASTER BLOCKS fell from the wraps claim started. No one else but Richardson said they's seen any
Richardson The CSAS & almost certainly a Juiced to the gills Mosely wer the only guilty parties that night

I believed he was guilty until Cotto vs Marg II and it looked eerily similar to the first fight but this time Cotto has the previously damaged eye to aim at the whole fight. And even then if the ref didn’t stop the fight Marg was still coming strong.
Styles makes fights and pressure fighters such as Pac and Marg would always eventually be too much for Cotto if he doesn’t stop them. He looked better against Mosley, Floyd and Nelo because they’re more elusive/counter-puncher or boxer puncher styles give him time to think..

I’ve been thinking about starting this exact same thread for awhile now but you beat me to it, bud.
I think Margarito was innocent and here’s why:
How many examples of glove tampering has been documented in boxing? I can only think of two; Jack Dempsey was rumored to have loaded gloves for his fight with Willard (I think it was Willard) and Panama Lewis was proven to have removed padding out of Luis Resto’s gloves in his fight with poor Billy Collins. In each case the losers were severely damaged. Cotto was beaten up but nowhere near as bad as Willard and Collins. We’ve all seen other fighters look worse. Nobody at the time of Cotto’s loss thought or suggested foul play (that I remember) - Miguel’s loss simply wasn’t that bad.
Cotto was a weight bully at 140 and was always willing to slug his opponent in the nuts if he was struggling. In the case of Margarito he simply ran into a bigger, better man who was peaking and wasn’t going to be denied. Tony was known for an iron chin, bottomless gas tank and being an attrition puncher - but not slugger. It was those qualities that drowned Cotto in deep water and not loaded gloves.

 

Margarito wasnt really loading up on his shots and yet cottos face looked like it had been stabbed with a shank. Only way someones face can cuttup like that is with something solid hittin his face. Not even pacquaio who landed just as much as margarito could manage to cause the same amount of damage as margarito did.
