I still cant see how people are saying this is Waldo's best performance, all the fight was and all the heavyweight scene is nowadays is a left jab, left jab, with 5 or 6 right crosses in 6 rounds, the heavyweights suck in these days. Growing up the Heavyweight championship was the most important title on the planet, now its just a boring joke with the WBA showing how ridiculous the heavys are. Can't wait until someone like Haye or someone who isnt afraid to go after those boring jabbers. IMO Haye destroys any of these Chagaevs or Ibragimovs or valuevs. well dissapointed with last nights fight, wasnt impressed with Waldo one bit.
It was a boring fight, not as bad as the Iggy fight though. Wlad did what he had to do and blew away a medicore Heavyweight that was overrated by most people. Chagaev used to be pretty good, but through injuries/diseases he's was a mere shell of his former self. I think the writting was on the wall for anyone that bothered to take a look at Ruslan's last 3 fights, he is hardly the number 3 guy anymore, even in this **** division. I say he should fight Haye or Arreola, there young guys looking for something to prove. It also doesn't that their aggressive with heavy hands, which is generally Wlad's worst nightmare.
Add me to that list. Look, Klitschko controlled the fight and dominated an unbeaten fighter. Great - well done. But he was still tentative (this will never change) and other than a jab and straight right, what does he have?? A left hook?? Okay...... Klitschko seemed petrified every time Chagaev got close. Klitschko is beatable but there is nobody out there that has the right attributes. I give Haye a chance but only a slim one. I don't want to seem like I'm shitting all over Klitschko after perhaps a career best win, bu his tentative nature and lack of versatility are all too evident. I just try and think what a prime Lewis would have done to Chagaev last night......
It wasn't an exciting fight nor a completely boring one, just a decent fight where Wladimir showed what he can do against a good opponent who he made look horrible.
