I think the way GGG seems to enjoy the violence way too much wether dishing it out or getting hit adds to his fear factor,up to the corner and the ref to stop any unnecessary punishment, unlike Pascal Ward is more tooled than anyone to face Kovalevs power which I guess is why he's taking him on as he can make punchers feel like they're not getting the shots off right?o

I mean if Oliver is just standing there like a statue. And Sergey is allowed to hit him flush in the face. How many shots you think it would take him to drop one of the ATG chinned HWs?

I want to say 6 or 8 but he took Lennox' shots without flinching, and sparred 300 rounds with Tyson without getting dropped

(replace Oliver with Vitali if you know more about Vitalis chin)

I wasn't disgusted, but for those who were, the Son of God is coming back down to earth November 19 to bring vengeance and punish Kovalev for battering all these opponents. :chuck::thumbup::xmas2:

It's noticeable how Kovalev keeps his hands low,Ward needs to keep the jab busy,I agree about not judging Ward on how BHop did, that said Kovalev is more than a puncher, that first knockdown on BHop will have Ward in two minds about rushing forward to clinch?

There is a huge difference between trying to finish a fight, and intentionally trying not to finish a fight just so you can inflict more punishment on someone. What's interesting is that typically in the fighting community, and by that I mean among fighters, that is actually considered one of the dirtiest things you can do because it goes beyond competing and turns into a personal vendetta that you allowed to translate into the ring. I find it more weird that posters can't seem to see a difference. I can understand disagreeing that what he is dirty/bad, but comparing that to trying to get a knock out is weird. They are fundamentally different.

Kov is also not doing is his job when he prolongs a beating. You don't even get paid by the hour. Your job isn't to try to hurt someone as long as you possibly can, lol, that isn't what boxing is.

The corner is also at fault, but they did at least stop the fight. The thing is, a lot of fighters truly hate it when their corner stops a fight. It sometimes seen as a disrespect in their eyes and it is harder for a corner, who has an intimate relationship with their fighter, to do something that could potentially be considered disrespectful to their fighter than for a person with no personal ties to do so.

As far as the ref, there are heaps of refs that don't deserve to refs and this doesn't just apply to boxing but all combat sports. I've seen MMA matches where competitors are strangled to the point of permanent damage because the ref for some reason acted as though they can't tell when a person is unconscious, refs make dubious calls that should be obvious to anyone that has any basic understanding of the rules of the sport and has watched it for years. Don't even get me started on the corruption that is especially rampant in boxing.

Hopefully no one shows Ward that footage, he's one of those guys that claims he doesn't watch a lot footage before hand, let him keep in insulting Kovalev, and maybe he'll unleash that kind of hellfire and brimstone in the first round. Let it be a surprise.:naughty2:

Sergey is a wee bit of a sadist, that's all. Evil, nah, just pent up rage. And depending on the opponent.... yeah I do kind of like it.:naughty2:

Pascal talked and insulted his way into a beating and it was delivered.

He could of no mas if he couldn't hack it.

Kovalev is missing a guy like Eubank Sr. in his ring corner who talks some common sense into him (and the ref!). This was a brutal, grueling beating which well could have ended badly with lasting physical damage for Pascal.
