Was anyone else fooled into this Wlad was going to be in an entertaining fight?

I had recorded it on Sky plus, but after 4 or 5 fast forwarded it to the knock out. He is dreadfully boring. But i think he batters Haye silly.

 

In all fairness it was actually one of Wlad's more entertaining fights.

It was still on the dull side but at least Wlad let his right hand go more than he has done in ages and he even threw uppercuts and hooks instead of his usual jab, straight right. At one point he even threw a body shot. I can't remember the last time he done that.

Whilst he was still safety first (for the reason you pointed out - his chin) i think a lot of blame for the fight not being exciting can be pointed at Peter. After round 2 his confidence was shot and he barely let his hands go.

 

Wlad isn't going to take any chances and there isn't a heavyweight out there, except Vitali, who could put Wlad under any kind of real pressure and force him to come out and fight and make mistakes.

Haye knows he can't beat a Wlad that fights in a super conservative style and that's why the fight hasn't happened yet.

 

Nope, I though it would be **** and it was.

 

A load of unfair criticism. Wlad fought as he did in his early career, throwing a wider range of punches, combinations and far fewer jabs. Peter looked competitive for the first round then had no answers and turned to holding. If the fight was boring it was only because Peter took flush shots all fight without going down. It was more a testament to Peter's chin than Wlad's caution

 

I had a tiny bit of hope that Peter might get in and land a big punch or two, to make it exciting, but I never realistically believed it would be good.

 

Tbh I didnt blame Wlad for the performance I blamed Peter, from round 3 onwards his whole attitude seemed to be hold for as long and as much as I can and hopefully get to the end

 

Peter didn't have the foot speed to get anywhere near Wlad. Haye has the footspeed, but I don't think he'll want to take too many of wlads shots, they hurt, and even if they don't knock you out they close your eyes up and bruise your face.

 

He is as boring as hell, like Ivan Drago, more machine than man. But can see why Haye wont fight him. Haye would be mince meat.

 

It was entertaining.

 

I hope the fight with Haye happens soon. I'd like to see how he would deal with Haye's footwork .

 

Haye is smart enough to know Wlad or Vitali would destory him, he'll fight the likes of Audley to keep his perceived illusion up.

 

I think the German crowd would boo if he was ever in a competitive fight. Its like Romans watching christians v lions.
