Enrique Ornelas Never heard of him before this fight. Well actually i think i heard of him slighlty but never watched him fight. He has a very good chin and also looks like a decent fighter. Did alot better than PAvlik did and never really gave up. I would say he was never really broken like Hopkin tends to do to his opponents but towards the end he did stop coming forward. But he still kept throwing though.
bro....ornelas is a good fighter (andrades lil bro)....i was actually higher on ornelas when they were both young....but ornelas has been robbed so many times and you can really say he has never really been beaten....even in his tko loss to cruz...that fight was ****en bull****...ornelas had cruz down about 5 times and the only time cruz hurt ornelas, stupid ass raul caiz jr stops it.....when it was already gonna end......
I thought in the first half his movement gave Hopkins problems. Later in the fight he he just stood in front of him. Can't think of a time I've seen Hopkins hit with so many right hands.
His fight with Rubio was a real snooze fest. That fight is murderous to watch. Yes, the same Rubio who's the biggest name on Pavlik's record.
I was. He definitely did better on my card than the judges gave him credit for. I figured it would be a shut-out / TKO / etc... Dunno if we'll ever see him on television again, but I liked his style & his chin.
Enrique Ornales is a good top 12-15 middleweight. He has fought above the middleweight limit numerous times, but that was out of necessity, not choice. He belongs at 160. In recent years he split a pair of NABF title fights with a still viable version of McKart. Bronco won a split decision in the first outing. In the second Ornales broke McKart's ear drum and became the only man other than Pavlik to stop McKart. The above scenario led to the Rubio/Ornales title elminator. Going into the final round of that fight I thought Rubio needed at least a knock down to win, but the judges obviously saw it otherwise. Ornales would have given Pavlik a much better fight than Rubio did. Enrique deserves the mantle "Mexican Warrior." Rubio clearly does not. I'd like to see Ornales fight a couple of the young guns at 160. Maybe Andy Lee and Danny Jacobs. Those fights would be good fights, and tell us if any of these guys belong in the top ten.
dont forget about the soliman robbery that lead to a title shot too......i keep telling people that ornelas has always been on the shorter end of the robbery stick.....look all of them were SD's and MD'S......even the tko loss was bull****.....and the man has never complained once...he's a class act just like his bro librado
