    Just watched a few minutes of this bout. Leonard threw lead rights at Tendler repeatedly. Different dynamic though as Lee was a Southpaw. It was not as risky.

    He was also the youngest heavyweight champion in history up to that time. The man was a trailblazer.

    Common sense would dictate that lead rights have been around since primates could create a fist.

    There’s no time, era, or year where it started.

    It’s like saying sprinters started using their pinky toe as a spring since the 1920’s.

    Emile Griffith had an educated right hand lead. Don Dunphy, calling one of his many post-title fights which almost always seemed to go the distance, called it "a thing of beauty".
