Moving up from number 3 contender to champion.Which was self explanatory to everyone else.
Rummy recently made a terrific all divisions ranking invited posters listing the top 15 in each division, nobody listed Grigorian in their top 15! You were invited, but couldnt bring yourself to abide by the given guidelines and repeatedly tried to include amateurs into the lists although Rummy courteously asked you twice to remove them, after you refused you were excluded and THANK GOD FOR THAT! You are a fruit- loop whose only pal here is Mendoza ,a Billy No Mates.
Nobody ever agrees with you, but you plough on like a blind sow searching for acorns . Seriously Strange!

*Grigorian was never ranked higher than no7 in the Ring rankings.

YOU CHOSE the year 2000 I showed he defended against 3 unranked [by the Ring], obscure fighters and did not face a single fighter in the Ring top ten.
Do you see ANYBODY agreeing with you on this?
You could use any of his challengers and; NONE OF THEM WERE RING RANKED WHEN HE FOUGHT THEM.IT IS THAT SIMPLE!

ps The Ring only ranks ten fighters in any division.
Grigorian was never ranked higher than no7 by The Ring.

Yeah, I don't think he was expected to get by Marco Rudolph (who had defeated him in the Olympics), let alone stop him and retire him. That win alone indicates that he was a pretty decent fighter at that point. Would have been interesting to see how he might have fared against contemporary titleholders like Mendy (RIP), Johnston, Nazarov, etc at that point in his career.

The lightweight division in the 90s post-Whitaker was very frustrating as you had some high quality titlists with unbeaten records (Nazarov, Miguel Angel Gonzalez, Shane Mosley) not getting in the ring with each other so it can only be pure speculation as to who was the best from that time period. They tend to get judged based on later weaknesses that were revealed at different weights - which may or may not have been there at lightweight - but no one fighter stood out for long enough to really stake a claim as a great lightweight, Grigorian included. And the ABC organisations didn't encourage unification so it never happened. In short, no-one dared to be great and instead contented themselves with defending their own personal piece of the lightweight pie.

    The difference being that.
    Gonzalez defended against Ring Ranked.
    Tyson no5.Mendy no8.Lopez no2.Murphy no9.Johnson no10. =5ranked challengers,

    Nazarov defended against Ring Ranked.
    Gamache no7.Johnson no3.Mendyno8.Thobela no6.=4ranked challengers.

Mosley who only held the IBF title ,defended against Leija no10.=1 ranked challenger.

    Grigorian=0 ranked challengers.
Therefore anyone stating Grigorian is a great,/ all time great is talking out of their rectum.

Nothing wrong with staying home and making money.
But Gonzales would have beaten him if they had met.

Nothing wrong with it, just don't be calling him a great fighter because he wasn't.

He also beat Hector Lopez,Darryl Tyson and an unbeaten Levander Johnson.
Lamar Murphy was EXTREMELY talented but had no discipline. Gonzales should have lost that fight.

He MIGHT squeak by a Hokiday.
Spaddy would have beaten him very easily- speed kills and Arthur has never seen that type of speed in the pros.
Johnson is too talented all the way around for Arthur and more then likey stop him late.
