Was Barrera prime when he first fought Pacquiao?

Before I became a Morales fan that I am today, I was still gutted to see Pacquiao slaughter Morales like that. It's like he toke his soul it hurt to see the look on Morales' face.

It was a great win no doubt but if he beats Floyd that will probably be his greatest win. I have to admit even as a Floyd fan Pacquiao still has a chance because he's faster than Floyd and will throw many punches every round.

Yes he was in his prime. Give Pacquiao full credit for the win.

Barrera peaked against Hamed but after he slowly declined. He wasn't shot nor over the hill, but for sure, he was slightly past his best. Plus there were alot of distractiong going into the fight like the change of training camp due to fire in big bear and metal plate in his head. PAcman caught em at a good time.

i say barrera lost his conditioning after the first morales fight thats why he started to box more also goin into the pacquiao fight he didnt get to train kept having to have xrays after they revealed he had brain surgery to prove it was safe for him to fight then big bear was on fire so he couldnt train there and his wife divorced him.....pretty bad times

Pretty big "if" if you ask me, but yes, if he beats Money, that will be, without a doubt, his greatest win.

I don't even know where to start with this question. I've seen 95% of the man's career, and I can confidently say that Marco didn't look good that night. Maybe the troubles in camp played a part, I don't know and neither does anyone else here, but all you can do is evaluate how he did before and after that fight. He was exceptional against Ayala and Morales in 2004...so I'm inclined to give full and absolute credit to Manny. He didn't just beat Barrera, he beat him up.

but take nothin away from pacquiao at all he cant help if the opponent has problems he just has to beat whos in front of him and even if they are past it its his promoters who line up the fights he just takes them

I think he was in his prime...but I don't think he was 100%.

Come to think of it, Pacquiao has yet to beat an elite fighter who's at their absolute best. He fought one who was in their true prime which was Marquez in 04 but he lost. That's his fate I think. BEating a row of past the hill legends.

I agree and give Pacquiao full credit win or lose. I gave him full credit for beating my men Cotto and Morales so I'll give him full credit here.

I give Pacquiao full credit for beating MAB and it is unfortunate for MAB's personal life to be a mess at that time but that shouldn't take away from Pac's performance.

I still can't thank you enough for posting Morales/Barrera 1 on youtube lol. Pacquiao like you said didn't beat the best Barrera but he still beat him and I give all credit for him for accomplishing such a feat.

Mab's peak came before he fought Pac. The wars with McKinney, Kelley and Morales brought that about. Lets not forget Junior Jones. Mab always had trouble with fast hands and quick feet. It was a bad matchp at that point in Mab's career. Pac became big after beating Marco. I'm pretty sure Mab wasn't prepared for what \pac had.

In his 3rd fight with Morales everyone knew at teh time they were just shells of what they use to be...and despite Barrera winning clear, he was exhausted after round 10, hanging on.
