In a deleted scene of The Godfather, Salvatore Tessio says he loves Beau Jack because he always knows who is going to win. You know that The Godfather has several mentions of people suspected to be somehow connected, such as Frank Sinatra (both on a poster in Italy and in representation as Johnny Fontaine), Joe E. Lewis (an actual entertainer, not a reference to the boxer) Patti Page and boxers Jake LaMotta and Tommy Bell. (On the background poster when Vito Corleone was injured during a shooting) I think that would indicate that Bell was involved in some fight fixing as well but he was not mentioned by a movie character, although tbf neither was LaMotta, whom we now know was involved. Which makes me wonder..were Bell, and, even more so, particularly Jack, involved in fight fixing? I bet Tessio would say "tell Tommy and Beau I always liked them. It was just business!"
