Great fighter. Horrible style and a personality that could be more than a little unsavoury on occasion.

Lol, you seem bitter. He beat a very good boxer in Hopkins and was the best SMW of his time. He will be remembered for that. Sorry, we can't all be as great and achieve as much as you.

ok my bad, maybe fraud was too strong a word. But he definitely wasn't great.

sorry an SD over a 40+ and then refusing to give him a rematch is hardly the stuff of legends.

Riddick Bowe beat Holyfield much more convincingly than Calzaghe beat Hopkins, does anyone dare to claim Bowe was a greater fighter than Holyfield?

    :good
calzaghe had many years to make jones and/or Hopkins a reality
hell, he spent long enough calling them out from wales but never did anything about it

I have nothing bad to say about calzaghe at SMW - he was the legit champ and that shouldn't even be up for discussion - but calling out the greatest fighters of his era repeatedly but doing nothing about it until they got in their 40's and were beaten by someone else?? please!

Yes Calzaghe will be rememberd for retiring undefeated, and for most boxing fans with little to no knowldge of the sport, this will be enough to proclaim him great. More knowledgable people will dug a bit deeper and realise his career was nowhere near great and Hopkins is/was head and shoulders above Calzaghe

You don't reign as the best SMW in the world for years, embarrass undefeated world champ Lacy, beat world champion Kessler, beat world champion, p4p top5 living legend Bernard Hopkins to become a 2 weight world champion and retire undefeated unless you're pretty decent.

Maybe you should watch less little clips on youtube and more full fights. Maybe listen to what respected, active and former professional boxers and trainers have to say about Calzaghe.
