nothing about the way he went down look legit....

which is strange considering he was well in the fight.....

 

A well placed body shot can bring anyone down.

The over acting while on the ground is what made me think it was fake.

 

I don't think so. He was holding his own for a while. Not sure why he would do that.

 

I forget what the odds were in that fight, but they definitely weren't where Oscar could have made much money betting against himself.

Those well placed liver shots don't have to be super hard to bring you down.

You know that's incredibly deceiving the way you say that. DLH had a great chin yes, and had never been stopped, true. However we aren't talking about Hopkins knocking him out, Hopkins put him down with a liver shot. Who knows whether you're really a girl or not, regardless, I can tell you have never boxed in your life. A liver shot is by far the most excruciating body shot, there have been COUNTLESS fighters put down by them.

Maidana is known for having a very strong chin too, Khan is known for being feather fisted, yet he put Maidana down with a liver shot. Maidana BARELY beat the count, most people wouldn't, he is just a warrior. Hopkins hits much harder than Amir Khan P4P, Hopkins has respectable power, especially when he sits down on his shots. Did you not just see him get a knockdown in his last fight? A featherfist like Khan can put down someone like Maidana with a liver shot, so surely someone like Hopkins can put down DLH, Hopkins also was the MUCH bigger man naturally. If you ever get punched straight in the liver, you won't ever question how someone can go down from a "light shot" to that region.

The odds were relatively close, correct. Besides that, Oscar was already filthy rich, and at the time was the highest earner of all time already. The man had absolutely zero reason to take a dive, he was absolutely hurt.

Doesn't take much to put someone down with a well placed liver shot. Just like how a punch to the side of the head that doesn't even bother you can knock you out cold if it lands flush to your chin. Certain areas are devastating to be hit in.
