I think Joe was content fighting at home and it was not worth the money for the risk for Jones and Hopkins coming to Europe to fight a fast southpaw in his hometown. Jones avoided Darius M. for the same reasons, The U.S. dollars were not really great for these fights

Nope. It's all about the money. Calzaghe wasn't marketable enough at the time RJJ and Hops were in their prime.

I'm tired of the debate, it's pointless.

I told you I don't see the point of conversing with fanatics. I'll name a fighter then you & the rest of the Calzaghe zealots will deride him & me. I'm all for debate, just check my post history, & have regularly defended myself when out numbered but this has become tiresome.

Good news is the fight looks set so the talking will soon cease one way or the other.:good

To the last part of your post very true and i agree.

To the first part? Cop out. There is an argument that Hopkins resume in its depth edges Calzaghes but in terms of a single win not too many here will agree. Also, for you to remark that my saying that Kessler as a victory was bigger than any sole win Hopkins managed was 'the most ludicrous thing you have read on this forum' was most certainly a hyperbole even if you disagree with the statement.

You really want to keep this going don't you mate? The irony of all this is I actually like Calzaghe & have probably watched more of his fights than most of the fair weather, back slappers on here. I'm just not as ready to bestow greatness upon him as others.

It's not a cop out it's just me being bored of this same conversation. If you really want to know my opinion just search my post history, all these points have been covered by me. I'm just sick of the familiar pattern of me giving an opinion then someone else insulting me or B-Hops. Feel free to PM me but my participation on this subject on the forum is over for now because I'm bored of repeating myself.

Sven Ottke definitely avoided Joe - for good reason - Joe woulda done him over.

Steve Collins didn't want to know about fighting Calzaghe

Eubank found out the hard way
