Byron Mitchell? Just watched the fight on You Tube and Calzaghe dropped really heavily after a right hook, like the proverbial sack of spuds, and was glassy-eyed and looked a little unsteady.

He must have been hurt because he then lost all composure, and discipline, and went life or death with Mitchell. Fortunately for Calzaghe he caught him with a peach of a left that changed the momentum of the fight and stopped him soon after, but for a moment there it looked a toss-up.

I personally think Calzaghe was seriously hurt, maybe the most I've seen him hurt, and definitely had a touch of the Bambi legs.

He was hurt but Joe had great powers of recovery & an iron will to succeed like all great champions.

think it was probably the most stunned he's been from a knockdown. the most hurt he's been could have been against eubank in the last seconds of their fight.

46-0. Learn to live with it. You'll feel better inside with less irrational hate.

I think Calzaghe was a hell of a fighter, so I'm not trying to troll him.

I never saw the Mitchell fight before and was just surprised by how hurt he was. Seriously, it was touch-and-go for a minute.

Some ridiculous fan boys on ESB. Can't even suggest a fighter was hurt without receiving a backlash.

He got hit with a hard shot and dropped to his knees, he wasnt flat out on his back and then got back up shook the cobwebs off whilst taking further shots from mitchell and then dropped him. People say it was a premature stoppage but Mitchell was all over the place and his balance wasnt there, When a fighter sustains that amount of pressure on Calzaghe it brings out the best in him

Yep; But I think he was a little more than embarrassed, probably the equal of the Jones forearm, the only two times I really thought he might get stopped.

Mitchell looked far more ****ed than Joe about 12 seconds later!

To be fair he did look a bit shaken

Calzaghe seemed to posses great recovery ability throughout his career

Mitchell dropped and hurt Calzaghe, Calzaghe then does the same back to Mitchell, only this time W*rrens hand picked, corrupt ref sees his chancce to stop the fight and recieve his nice fat check. Calzaghe, like Ottke is a disgrace and and stain on the sport of boxing.

No. Mitchell was totally ****ed. He was taking unanswered shots and staggering around like a drunken bum. Did you not see him fall into the ropes prompting the ref to stop the fight? British referees can stop fights prematurely but this was not one of them.

Joe was so good that all people have to critisize is when he got dropped, because there are no losses to dissect
