Joe was so good that all people have to critisize is when he got dropped, because there are no losses to dissect.
Wow Calzaghe fan boys cant even admit when there man was hurt. He got caught got dropped was hurt got up a little rubbery legged and then stopped Mitchell a few moments later.
How's that :? Joe dropped him and was giving him a pasting for the rest of the round, Mitchell had a 10 second moment. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pX0_b_M9ulk[/ame]
it was a premature stoppage, it always is for the away fighter. That was a back and forth situation and a supposed "title" fight , the man had been dropped and just dropped Joe bad stoppage , Joes career is littered with them thats why he has a KOrofl) pecentage of 70 More than foreman:hi:
He was definitely hurt and clearly dazed by the knockdown. That fight could've been so much more if the referee hadn't stepped in but in reality Byron wasn't defending himself......
Calz totally recovered almoost immediately--he was like ALi intht regard. ANd the stoppage--I don't recall Mitchell complaining. Calz got some premature stoppages, don't think this was one of them. But will watch again.
Just watched it again. Looked like Mitchell was saved from going down by the ropes, and should have received a count for a KD--unless the rules are different there? He was getting hammered for a while before that though. And it did look like he was complaining to the ref, so I was wrong there. Verdict: Maybe just a touch questionable, if at all. ANd Joe clearly was not very hurt with his own KD.
Haters will never give up, they will keep on hating. Do the haters not realise how similar they are to the subject of their ire? JC - like his haters - just can not be beaten. 46-0 :deal
Watched it a month ago and yes Joe was hurt dont remember for how long, and anybody who said the stoppage was early must be assuming it was without actually watching it Mitchell was down and was getting popped by big shots all around the ring til he staggered into a corner looking ready to fall Mitchell threw nothing in return did not defend himself and gave the ref no reason to let it continue
That's what I always liked about this fella, fought his heart out and sometimes came of the deck early on to produce shocking turnarounds. He was down against Mitchell, Hopkins, even RJJ... Happens that he really was on the verge of seing his lights out in that fight and then threw some 50 punches and kept some relentless pressure on the man who had beat Frankie Liles. Happens that I also saw Liles and Littles in Newcastle going down and coming back up in three full packed action rounds but Calzaghe was a tough motha.
