Was Calzaghe's dispatching of Jeffrey Lacy one of the greatest/best wins of this era?

Can anyone explain to me how the hell this can be best win of this era:huh Lacy is just totally irrelevant fighter in boxing history if there were no Joe fans everyone would forget about him, he doesnt even have a chance to be HOF fighter

To name a few MAB beating Hamed, Morales beating Pac, JMM KO win over Pac, Roy win over Ruiz etc all far greater than this win...
Joe win over Lacy, is just a good win nothing more nothing less on par with Froch KO of Bute,

This is a decent thread. You can troll the brittards and get them excited about Calzaghe beating a hypejob at 1-1 odds. You can troll the non brits by claiming it was a great win.

    B- trolling effort

No. You have to take into account the level of opposition. It doesn't mean Lacy (who was only a slight betting favorite) was that good just because people overrated him.

Calzaghe's win over Kessler was better IMO.

people who backed Lacy is simply a measure of how little Joe had achieved with his WBOgus title. Euro champs had done more than Joe at that point.

It's up there. One of the greatest display of boxing in the last 25 years.

Joe can't help the fact that he ruined Lacy.

Lacy was on the path to greatness, he just ran into an all time great.

Just the Chavez-Taylor. But Calzaghe didn't need the ref's help.

Hell no. Lacy was a hype job on so many levels. He had poor defense, and c class skills. He had power, but that was it.

The only reason I paid attention to that fight was because of Calzaghe as I'd never heard of Lacy before that fight. I'm still trying to figure out just whom Lacy beat because looking at his résumé, I still don't know why he was hyped.

Broner is much better than Lacy. Though he still sucks against the elites.
