Leading up to the fight, almost no one thought this card was PPV-worthy. I didn't think so either. But I changed my mind in the first round of the main event. In retrospect, I thought the whole card plus the main event was worth $50.
The fight was more one sided then many thought and was a letdown, the card also wasn't helped by pullouts Charlo vs Molina i was buzzing for, also Figuero off the card, I thought Alvarez vs Thompson was a good fight and Arakawa vs Linares but the last 2 fights were a bit of a letdown to me, so therefore i am glad i didn't buy the PPV
$50 for a non title PPV main event boxing fans are used to **** crap fights when they actually get one thats worth watching they give it too much credit. it was a great match up that would have been on HBO 10 years ago
To each it's own. My main concern when I purchase a PPV is the entertainment value and this one was worth it. Worst part was that all fights were pretty one-sided but there still was plenty of action. Santa Cruz/Mijares was the most boring but it was worth it to see LSC dominate the wily veteran. The Arce/Silva and Uzcatequi/Lopez card was pure frosting. Overall it made for a pretty successful boxing party. P.S. Canelo has that DLH effect. Most of the guys were cursing him out and rooting for Perro while the women stopped what they were doing to watch the main event and cheer for Cinnabuns; most of them had no idea who they were rooting against!
