It wasn’t as good as it was hyped for sure, but I think it was a boring fight compared to a normal boxing match. Maybe the last 2-3 round was good, but it was like a bar fight, none of the fighters could land significant punches. First 3 round was very quiet, then GGG was out landing Canelo with jabs because he was running away.
It was an alright fight but nothing amazing. If it wasn't for the name value I never would have rewatched it.
It was all right. But a fight where one guy is on his bicycle the whole time is always disappointing. And then all the corruption, the ped use and the arrogance. It’s like watching a Floyd fight. Or a Lance Armstrong interview. Canelo is now at that level of douchery. It’s no coincidence Canelo is Floyd’s biggest disciple.
It was a decent fight, kinda like Ward vs Kovalev , you got two p4pers so it was a more technical fight but had that intrigue. Both men were two cagey for me for it to be considered a good fight.
I enjoyed it tbh. Both fought well, imo Golovkin doesn't get enough credit for what he did and Canelo fought a perfect fight to "tame" Golovkin but wasn't active enough. I had it 9-3/8-4 for Golovkin in a close but clear victory.
Loved the fight. One of the few high profile fights that actually lived up to the hype. Rematch might surpass it.
