Was Canelo win over Trout a fishy dec.?

Close fight and Canelo is the house fighter if you don't beat him convincingly he gets the win.I see no controversy and I was picking Trout.

 

Trout came there with the intention of jabbing and running. That's why he was reluctant to engage for 8 rounds, and threw a flicking, arm punching jab, almost all of them missing, because he was too afraid to step into his punches.

Alvarez flipped the scrip on him by not following him around like an imbecile, and when he did throw, he landed, the harder, more damaging blows.

I disagree with compubox. I don't believe that Trout landed as many punches as it said because the majority of the punches missed or barely grazed Canelo, and almost all of them were arm punches.

You could argue that Trout won some of the rounds where he pressed the fight and commited to his punches, but even then, Alvarez made him look foolish and landed the harder punches.

If you want to prevent these types of fights, make the ring smaller.

But anyway, back to the point, it was a close but CLEAR win for Alvarez.

No, the decision was good. I had it 7-5 to Canelo. With the KD, that was 115-112. I'm pretty sure he would have taken the final round for an 8-4 decision, or even pressed for a stoppage, had it not been for the ****ed-up open scoring thing. He knew it was in the bag and was advised to play safe in the last round.


Tout was busier and worked harder and was 'making the fight' for about 2/3 of the time versus 1/3 for Canelo. But he wasn't able to pose any threat at any time, nor put any hurt whatsoever on Canelo. (And Trout is a big junior MW who has foughy at 160 before.)

Canelo was unfazed, and treated Trout's punches more as an annoyance than a threat. He brushed them aside, not relly caring too much if they connected or not.

On the offence, Canelo landed much harder, more damaging shots that had Trout stunned a couple of times and down and wobbly once.

Max K and Larry M talk about scoring a round on the basis of which guy you'd rather be for that round. I got the impression that I'd definitely rather be Canelo than Austin for the majority of the rounds.

The decision was good. Trout was game and classy.

The only complaint I have is the ****witted open scoring system.

Whoever thought it up should be blinded and then castrated.

 

Trout threw more punches. If he landed more, it was only because of soft jabs. Canelo landed many, many more punches of consequence.

I had it 115-112 Canelo. It was not a fishy decision. One of the judges was a joke, but I watch the fight and I dont care about the judges. It was a close fight, but I think the right man won

 

Trout threw a lot of soft jabs that barely connected. Canelo had the harder more memorable punches. The right man won in my opinion.

 

That fight only testifies to the fact that Trout was not going to win a decision, especially a close one. The knockdown sealed his fate cause it gave that bull**** decision an air of legality. Trout accepted that **** on TV cause he got class but a week from now he will be saying what he really feels. You know, you win some and you lose some but when you get **** taken, it just leaves a bad taste in your mouth. This is some more of that JMM and Pac ****. Now if Trout feels the same way a week from now, **** him, he get what his hand calls for and he will always be a loser in my book. If he stands up and call that **** for what it is and demand a rematch whether he gets it or not then I can respect that. As for Canelo, the powers that be in boxing got his back cause his skills is lacking. He gets by with a little help from his friends. He might as well take advantage of it and hopefully learn how to fight for real while he got that net.:bbb

 

Had it 115-112 Canelo the first time I watched it and 116-111 the second, which happened to be the scorecards of 2 of the judges.

Many rounds were closely, but that wasn't a controversial fight as far as the outcome was concerned. Canelo put on a defensive clinic last night, controlled the fight, landed the better shots, and scored a knockdown. Never in my time on ESB have I seen more people try to twist a fight into a win for the wrong guy than last night. Trout was a game fighter, but there's no way he won that fight.

Trout threw more but never landed that many nor any significant punch in the fight.

Canelo landed the meaningful punches, the power punches, the hard counters and the KD.

Was surprised that he countered Trout really really really well in the championship rounds..

open scoring ruined it, i had it neck and neck after 8 rounds but then alvarez was told he'd basically already won the fight, so he took the last 4 rounds off. I had it 115-112 trout but we never really found out who the better fighter was. bull**** scoring as expected.

 

I scored it 115-113 for Trout, but I want to score it again. I was rooting for Canelo, but that was my honest card.
