I thought he was. He certainly did better compared to his fight against Katsidis.

He looked better in this fight than in the Katsidis fight. He was on point in that fight, but Katsidis was getting to him. Of course he KOed Katsidis with that perfect counter left hook, so it wasnt as if he was doing badly.

He landed the left hand tonight against Marquez, but Marquez was never in position to get caught with it like Katsidis was, not in the slightest. Plus Marquez has a very good chin

he was competetive at the beginning until the mid rounds where jmm started to operate. he can still squeak some good shots from time to time and did manage to output a fairly decent amount of punches but it is clear that he cannot fight a whole 12 rounds anymore.

Katsidis fought like a brainless automaton coming forward and attacking relentlessly in a fight where he would've either swamped Casa or been stopped by Casa. Lucky for Casa the latter happened. JMM was more methodical and laid back in his approach allowing for a slower pace that Casa can work with what he's got left... which at 37 years of age was close to nothing.

I always thought this would be a replay of JMM's fight against MAB.

Early on, it was competitive, but eventually, JMM continued the press and Casamayor was never able to neutralize that, and during the latter rounds, he was just gassed out and totally beaten up to put up any sort of defense in the face of a determined and agressive JMM.

Was he competitive? Well, for most of the time, he was a sitting duck for Marquez' precise and sharp combination punching. If anyone can call that competitive, I wonder how.

yup. his left hand was landing on marquez at will, although he's already past his prime.. marquez took control during the later rounds, 5th round i remember... impressive victory for jmm

Is this a rhetorical question because up until the 11th round it was about an even fight. Casa still showed that he's formidable but I don't think he could win in a rematch vs Marquez nor could he beat Diaz or Campbell.

    Or Pac.

I had Marquez up very comfortably, but Casamayor was competitive in almost every round.
