Was Castro-Jackson a better comeback win than Corrales-Castillo?

JORGE CASTRO v JOHN DAVID JACKSON, Mexico 1994

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5gNJsdRDQYw

    - Jackson had an insurmountable lead over the 3 cards (80-71, 80-73, 79-74) whereas Corrales-Castillo I was neck and neck at the time of the stoppage

    - In the 9th, Castro hardly throws any punches, he lies on the ropes eating combination after combination after combination, almost every punch landing cleanly. He is badly cut.

    - The commentators say again and again that the fight has went on too long, that it should have been stopped, that the referee should already have intervened

    - You can't see it from the footage I have posted, but I have read that the referee actually moved in to stop the slaughter when Castro landed the definitive punch! The ref was moving in with his arms to intervene when Jackson went down!!

    - ONE PUNCH effectively ended this fight - a true comeback win. Castro lands one hook and the fight is immediately turned on its head

The best comeback in history?? I think so.

    Thoughts/opinions? :bbb

    Overall, yes.

Castro was the closest living fighter ever to emulate Rocky in this bout.

He is literally pounded from post to post with no answers for the entire bout, cut SEVERELY over both eyes, and then BANG.

There have been very few fights I have ever witnessed where one fighter was so severely beaten, both physically and on the cards, only to come back and win.

i wouldnt argue either way although of the two i would probably pick Castro-Jackson.

but for me the best comeback ever is Moore-Durelle.
Moore got knocked down five times, three of those he was hurt bad and he cameback and knocked Durelle out in a terrific fight.

See I was thinking about Moore-Durelle as well. They are both all-time classic comebacks, but you could see Moore starting to win the bout.

Castro's was just outta nowhere. Nor was he the heavy favorite going in.

    Maybe.

McKinney-Ncita 1 is another comeback that deserves mention.

This one is more of a "shocker comeback" because Castro was so far behind. With Moore vs. Durelle you knew that Moore was the better fighter all along if he could get his feet under him. With Corrales and Castillo it was close going. You could make a case for any.

Okay posters, put your thinking caps on. I believe it was Tuesday Night Fights, when a fighter was getting pummeled on the ropes and the referee jump in at exactly the time the fighter who was getting pummeled threw a hook I believe. He knocked the opponent out, but lost the fight due to the stoppage. Now, that was incredible. I remember the Castro vs Jackson fight. Castro can take a beating, but always tries to come back. Jackson was a very good fighter in his day.

They were great in different ways. Castro was a limited fighter but everyone knew he was tougher than nails and could punch but for Corrales he came back and beat a fighter that, in my opinion, was better than he was.. if Corrales and Castillo fought 10 times I'd pick Castillo to win atleast seven of 'em.

It is a fight I will never forget. Actually, I had a couple that came over to hang-out and did not like boxing. After that comeback knockout, we were all jumping up and down.
