Was thinking about this the other day.

I know he had a few flash knockdowns and Watson II was pure exhaustion.

Thompson II - his only TKO was due to his eye swollen shut.

But was he ever really hurt?

    I can't think of any...

Watson and Benn both hurt him on occasions. Eubank was definitely in trouble late against Watson - but he rebounded nicely. Had he not landed that uppercut from hell - Watson might have put him out right then and there.

Benn-Eubank I Chris was in real pain from Nigels sickening body shots but he never took a knee. Apart from that and the Watson and perhaps Thonpson fight no one came close to stopping him.

Calzaghe was never close to stopping Eubanks and only gave him a flash KD similar to the one Calzaghe got from BHOP.

Chris was in dire trouble in the later rounds against Watson... He was close to being stopped...

I always like Eubank more for his gallant displays against men who had the upper hand over him , like BIG men (Cruisers) Thompson etc... He showed a lot of heart and courage.. He reminded me of Dennis Andres occasionally.. Strong as an ox , with the heart of a lion...

Ironically, as with a few other fighters over the years, Eubank got more credit for the gritty losses at the end of his career than most of his wins.

Those latter fights were when the public finally warmed to him. He was widely disliked, and booed a lot during the early part of his career.

He was the pantomime baddie up against the people's champ Nigel Benn. Both fighters recognised it made for good box office and played up to it.
