Was Corrales vs Mayweather really a better win than Bradley vs Peterson?

You got two undefeated prospects in both scenarios and both fighters are obviously hungry.

But in Mayweather Corrales, you got a supremely skilled fighter in Mayweather going up against a guy who has no jab, no boxing ability whatsoever, can't use his height for ****, and his defense is that he's basically known for being able to take a beating. Oh, and he has KO power. So does Urango.

I mean think of it like this, Corrales decided to go up two weight classes and then bring the fight to maybe the strongest welterweight in the division in Clottey. Did he even think to use his height and reach to his advantage? No, of course not. And you gotta think, that was a way more experienced Corrales.

So then you got Bradley, who admittedly is not the defensive genius that Mayweather is, but given his level of competition at age 26 seems to be more of a warrior than Mayweather, beat a guy who is tall, has a great jab, can fight inside and outside, and would be hard for anybody to outright school in his respective division.

And while it was a tougher fight than the scorecards suggested, Bradley still manged to win almost every round.

So ya'll tell me how Corrales was better than Peterson? And I don't wanna hear that Mayweather dominated him. Klischko dominated Chagaev, but for real, let's not get out of place about who Chagaev is.

    But that's what I'm sayin...

kind of agree. Everybody loves Chico for his warrior heart but he never used that long reach or tried to avoid a punch.

Really? Corrales was a Champ, and I guess had a ranking in some top P4P lists. Peterson is still fighting for a spot as a top contender. not only was Corrales ranked higher and seen as better them Peterson, Floyd WHUPPED him better then Bradley did Peterson. I don't even see this as a close comparison.

Ain't nobody ever gonna school Peterson as badly as Corrales got schooled in his entire career.

    And that INCLUDES Floyd.

    And Baldomir was champ too.

Chico was in a horrible state of mind at the time. He was set to go to jail, needed cash for the lawyers he would owe big time. I remember reading about Chico having the shakes by the 4th round he was so drained. I just feel like there was a black cloud over Chico at that point in his life. He was just about at rock bottom.

Chico Corrales has wins over Acelino Freitas, Jose Luis Castillo, and Joel Casamayor in their primes...this thread makes me physically ill.

 Probably not. That was a major whupping! BAck when I liked Floyd a lot more too.

Yeah, but obviously not all champs are equal. Baldimor was/is the WORST WW World Champ ever.

He went life and death with Castillo, despite being the puncher in that fight, and Feitas has no heart.

    Casamayor though, yeah.

:deal I agree with this. You know i get the feeling that Reaper was not even a Boxing Fan back when this fight happen,or else he would know that Corrales was highly regarded and many people thought he would win this. At the time Corrales was a pfp top 10 guy and so was Mayweather. Peterson was barely Consider a contender and Bradley Wasnt in most peoples Pfp list(maybe now hes close)
So this win is not even on the same level as Mayweathers win over Chico. I also think that Corrales was in his prime before this fight. Even though he had wars after I dont think he was as Highly regarded as before.

Hey, if you know me, I dont' give a **** what mother ****ers think.

While every mother ****er says one thing, I say another.

Just like I was able to say Darchinay would whup Mijares and described it to the T, just like I was able to say Bradley was the better boxer than Peterson when was everyone was laughin, WHO the **** is laughin now.

Now Corrales was regarded where he was because he knocked mother ****ers out. People get overrated when they got power.

So don't start talkin **** like you know me, when I doubt you know boxin much at all.

I mean, aren't you the same mother ****er that was talkin about gang **** and how much you bench?

That's some highschool bull****. So what that make you when the fight took place? 12?

Well yeah, Corrales was a proven commodity and Petersen is not.

If Petersen does something in his career it will turn out to be an even better win for Bradley. At the moment its a very respectable win over a young, obviously talented and undefeated fighter.

As for Bradley, I am very impressed with how he makes little adjustments for each fight and no matter what gets the win. Since he beat Witter I've been high on him, to go to a fighters backyard and put such a focused performance against an awkward foe really impressed me.
