LMAO Cotto showed he was capable of beating Pacquiao in the first round. Nobody complained about it. Everybody thought that Cotto would beat pac.

It couldn't have helped Cotto, only Pacquiao.

The fact that Manny's team asked Cotto to fight for his title at 145lbs then one fight later, fight Clottey,a fighter who is known to come into his fights well over the welterweight limit at like 160lbs wasn't cool at all.

So Cotto was to big for manny to fight at the full welter limit, but Clottey wasn't?

That Freddy Roach is a mad scientist.

The weight was more to do with the WBC wanting a reason to launch their diamond belt. I doubt either camp was too bothered about what weight it was at. It was just at a catch weight so the WBC had a high profile event to debut their shiny, new belt.

Pathetic, yes, but I don't think it was Team Pacquiao who really demanded it.

I think it might of played a small part, not much, Cotto has never had great stamina, he used his legs and got in his bike in both his fights with N'Dou, i think it was, and Mosley, he also ran out of gas against Margarito.

I certainly dont think its why he lost.

    No I dont think so.

Cotto is still dumb as rocks.

How many stipulations was he gonna give in to Pac before he says F U?

    Come down in weight? Check.

Weight penalties cause we feel like it? Check.

    Belt on the line? Check.

    70 - 30 split? Check.

But the extra lbs didnt hinder his performance.

I don't think he was affected by the catch weight. He is around that weight normally unlike oscar.

My brother danny and a lot of other peurto ricans think cotto is great, but personally,I never thought he was even good.He looks like a fighter who didn't have an amateur career.Something about him doesn't look right to me.I regard him as a hype job because under all circumstances, boxing needs a peurto rican for peurto ricans to believe in.There is big business in having a peurto rican champion for the masses, even if he is more hype than the real deal that Tito was.Even Mayorga was not the real deal, just wildly entertaining.

Pacq deserves full credit for beating cotto,he also deserves full credit for beating clottey, the only problem is they are not who people claimed they were.Margarito is not great but he hits hard, now we know why.The tuth is that if you look a little closer at the division, you will see it is much thinner than people realize. There is paquiao and mayweather and even in this situation we cannot say that pacquiao is getting by without assistance from unknown substances.Regardless, when that fight is over, there won't be much left for either one of them at ww.

No..Cotto has been dropped by lesser boxers and was running lately in his fights. Cuts up easy too. There's evidence of that already.

Agreed he let himself get bullied in negotioations

like how Hagler took the money and gave Leonard the gloves ring and rounds

I think the weight affected him he fought hard the 1st 5 or 6 rounds

I think i had him win 1 and 2 and was winning 3 and 4 but got KD'd so it was 10-9 in both a even fight after 4 then they either split 5 and 6 or manny won both dont remember then Cotto kinda just stopped

whether he was just gassed from weight or manny's pressure is any ones guess

I personally think it hurt him then again after his Margo loss and Clottey disaster I was thinking it was time to go to 154 much like he had to go to 147 from 140 after the torres disaster

Cotto fought a dumb fight, did not have a plan B, and had no one coaching him between rounds. A recipe for disaster.

Pac's punches affected Cotto, not the catch weight.
