I saw was the fight again yesterday, and it seemed that Mayweather was in control the entire fight. Cotto had his moments but nothing spectacular. Maybe the bloody nose. The pro Cotto crowd also added emphasis with every punch he landed... I thought Mayweather dominated with ease.

Mayweather picked him apart, but Cotto had his moments. It was a clear win for Mayweather.

He had at least 1-2 dominate round against Mayweather and that isn't normal, so of course his performance was over exaggerated

no. he performed very well. it's just that he fought the best of this generation. with regards to people calling it a close fight, then yes, cotto's performance is overblown.

Same, im a Cotto fan and i gave him 2 rounds max.

Mayweather was in charge all the way, but Cotto made him work for it

... To win a round you only need to land a few more punches per round or a significant punch... My point: It was a CLOSE fight in terms of the actual fight. Now... did floyd win more rounds? indeed... But let's stop pretending he whooped Cotto's ass asap.

Cotto surprised me with his performance and he had Mayweather working all night and not stylin as was the case with Marquez recently.

being in charge does not ever mean, getting punched in the face and having your ribs worked on in the corner. NO.. He was NOT in charge.

Just look at his face between rounds... Floyd doesn't even agree with you. :nono

yes, he did a solid job but people seem to think mayweather is a god who can't bleed or be hit they fail to realize he's man just like the rest of us he's going to make mistakes. yeah cotto did a good job but he still didn't do better than castillo or DLH

Its not exaggerated. People are just excited to see effectiveness and success... even if its SMALL against mayweather.

Castillo had more success, but I think Cotto was more effective when he was successful. In any case, when a fighter is dominating everybody its a big deal even when someone loses but shows effectiveness against them.

No. It was the toughest fight he's been in since years ago, and there were plenty of close rounds.

I think people feel the need to try and explain away whenever Floyd gets hit or struggles as something minor or irrelevant and uphold his aura of invincibility, for whatever reason.

Idk about this man. Mayweather was landing that right hand at will. That left uppercut was no joke either. And Cotto was missing the vast majority of his punches when Mayweather was on the ropes. Did you see the left side of Cottos face when he was interviewed?

    Oh really? :think

Was that the reasoning behind sweeping the right hand behind the guard?:huh

Or maybe not being able to find a single effective "money" punch until the 11th which was the left uppercut? :think

And seeing as there wasn't an interview from Cotto...shows me you didnt see the fight.

cotto was throwing them combos/flurries. Flurries are nice, and they make the fight look exciting theres only one problem his combos where beautiful but he wasn't hitting **** a majority of the time. he did great body work but come on people cotto hit more air than mayweather. then his dumbass basically stood in front of that uppercut and said "hit me baby one more time". i wanted cotto do fight smarter unfortunately that was not the case

The right hook was very effective although some did hit the glove. And the left uppercut and right hook was landing way before the 11th round. Also cotto did have an interview it just wasn't shown on that night. Look it up it's on the forum. And yes his face did look battered on the left side of his face.
