IMO Oscar lost that fight and was out boxed just like Floyd out boxed Hatton and letterman tried to convince everyone that Hatton was ahead by 2 points..

you see, i respect what everybody in here says, but what i dont understand is that ya'll m'****as think floyd is ****en perfect...the man has had some close as fights, and if you think he's never lost, then that's cool, but why when i post my opinion, i'm either biased or racist :rofl

 

Cotto took WBC number one contender and former interim titlist Shane before Sulaiman awarded Ricky that position after Floyd picked him in June 24 ( one day after the JLC fight). It is not who did Cotto beat ( Zab by itself), it's how he beat him - bleeding torrentially from the first round and crushing Zab the way Baldo and Floyd couldn't do... But then everybody knows Floyd turned down Shane in the fall of 2007 cause he said that that was not a big draw - he is saying the exact same thing about Cotto now. Whateva, I am talking to the walls... If I say something I am certain about, people are going to say precisely the opposite thing.

 

Respect ,, but I hardly think floyd is perfect, he's smart but not perfect. He I give him respect because he does one thing other fighter that started out are willing to do , stay in shape and improve ..

A quality not found in other fighter now days ... but as far as you being racist ?!? I would call you racist but you and I have discussion on remarks that you have made that can be deemed as being racist ..

 

Palese Floyd totally dissected Zab and then was on his way to KOing Zab until Zab opted to fouls Floyd .. Cotto KOed Zab but look at the punishment he took, and he almost ended getting KOed himself.
so if you call getting your cutup and and almost KO impressive then more power to you , me myself I like the fighter that break the other opponent down down systematically with out taking any damage in return , that to take skill. Floyd left no doubt of who was superior fighter between he and Zab , and he did it with out using it using speed. There are no fighter around to day that can say they beat Zab with out take some type of punishment , none .. except for Floyd.

Shane turned down floyd stating he was taking the rest of the year off and oh yeah he needed a tooth pulled .. and that statement is on record from shane himself.

And lets face it Shane name is some what tarnished with hie back to back losses to Winky and Forrest and his second controversial win over Oscar..

 

Many felt Floyd's fight was a draw too, except the thing is, that fight was a split decision, Cotto's was unanimous...........

Just like you can say Floyd beat DLH with a straight face.

 

For Christ's sake...

36 or no, Mosley was still a legitimate threat at 147lbs, and had pretty much shut down a solid contender in Collazo in his previous fight. Even though he was past his best, I would venture to say he still gives anyone at the weight a difficult evening (and beats quite a few of the top name guys). No reason to dismiss it altogether...it's a hell of a win for Cotto.

But...

Floyd's victory over the still legit De la Hoya, his impressive stoppages of two well-regarded, undefeated fighters who were in the p4p ratings at the time (Hatton and Corrales) are certainly just as meaningful, probably more so, than Cotto's win over SSM.

Still, it's not like any of these wins should really be diminished for either fighter. Floyd's proved to be worthy of consideration for ATG status. Cotto's proved to be a very worthy contender. Let's leave it at that.

 

Cotto's win over a 36, 37 year old Mosley is impressive. But not as impressive as Mayweather's victory over a prime destroyer in Corrales, and a past his prime but still very good DLH(34), in a higher weight class than he had ever been.

 

How is this a question? If PBF's win over DLH is his best win(IT IS)?

Prime SSM beat Prime DLH, PERIOD!! Regardless of how anyone feel's about the second fight, MOsley is the better fighter. SSM fought Winky TWICE and Oscar's known for wanting NOTHING TO DO WITH WRIGHT in the ring. Think DLH would fight Forrest?


PBF- Corrales, Castillo, Judah, DLH, Hatton

SSM- DLH twice, Antonio Diaz. Vargas twice, and Collazo.
Plus he fought Wright and Forrest Twice!! There is NO QUESTION that Mosley has fought better opposition in his career than Floyd and was better than DLH PRIME.

 

anyone that saw floyd vs Oscar know got dame well Oscar did not deserve a draw .. please you make me laugh ..

 

You must remember, this is coming from a guy who picked Hatton beat PBF because PBF pissed Hatton off and a guy who hyped a flawed and limted fighter like Margo.

 

See Floyd said RETIRE, so until he returns? Its fair to question whether floyd is scared to take THE HIGHEST challenges.
