I mean, it was kind of embarrassing for Crawford, seeing how this washed up, shot version of Amir Khan was able to land punches at will on this supposed "TOP POUND FOR POUND FIGHTER WITH ONE OF THE BEST DEFENSE". Amir Khan could barely miss, even if he tried on Crawford. Unfortunately, Khan's lack of durability meant every time he also got clocked, he was getting rocked and dropped. However, this doesn't change the fact that Khan couldn't miss with his punches on Crawford every time he decided to attack. For someone who is supposedly one of the best defensive boxers in the game today and is supposed to be a TOP pound for pound fighter, I expected a little more than that. Crawford's defensive liabilities are available to be noticed by everyone. Crawford has horrible reflexes and reaction times. He appears to be stiff as a rod / board, as if the guy can't move properly. Had difficulties reacting and defending against a washed up, shot to pieces Amir Khan who's speed was slower than at any other other point in his career. Crawford is begging to be hit and eventually taken out by someone who has durability and is not a left-over or a tomato can.
Never saw him as a great defensive fighter, he’s a great counterpuncher. Much like JMM except more slick, both gets hit a lot but are great at countering.
Khan looked completely shot against Vargas and he looked the same against Crawford. He has had a good enough career, but he is damaged goods now. I think going 2 weight classes up to face Canelo and getting those hard shots and the devastating KO, and then coming back down in weight classes really took a lot out of him. He has had some very good nights under the lights, and had a very good successful career. He can keep his head high and I hope he has a bright future.
