it was like a sparring session, no punches with bad intentions then hopkins ended the fight with a very suspect bodyshot ! Hopkins just before the 9th round saying "its my round" "its my round" its like he knew something Nazeem shouting from ringside "bodyshot" bodyshot" reminding Oscar its time now also Hopkins signed with Golden boy shortly after thoughts ?
I could believe it, many do not remember the shot to the liver that Karl Mildenberger landed on Muhammad Ali on Sept 10 1966, it was very hard.
Interesting..Going back to the Felix Sturm fight it was obvious Oscar had no buisness in the Middleweight division. The way he pounded on Sturms body and got nothing in return proves that. And this can even be fairly debated that Srurm might of won that fight. Going into the Hopkins fight I believe Oscar was already mentally beat and knew moving up to Middleweight was to much and he lacked power in that division thats why he was attempting to win rounds with alot of shoe shining instead of really trying to hurt Hopkins. In round 4 is where Oscar actually threw led but even then the power was obviously lacking and the difference from when Hopkins threw was obvious. Oscar was best at 147- 154 mostly but Hopkins was a naturally dominant Middleweight with over 30 ko's to back that. That liver shot was on the spot and legit. Saying the fight was fixed is a stretch..imo
Couldnt move? Wasnt he punching the floor while he was down? Thats not the behaviour of someone who goes down from bodyshots... not to mention that a minute or so after he was up and laughing all of this plus him making Hopkins his partner at GBP its all a bit suspicious..with that said i cant say for certain it was fixed.
Sturm clearly beat ODLH IMO the fight resembled Bivol vs Canelo, not quite as one sided as that. But Sturm like Bivol had water tight defence that ODLH had trouble penetrating, and Sturm controlled the fight with his jab and clean effective punching. At worst it was 7-5 for Sturm, they gave ODLH the decision because it would of ruined the big money fight vs Hopkins.
No, Oscar wasent punching the canvas during the ten count and ko..it was actually a minute or 2 after Bayless called the fight and after when Oscar recovered did he punch the canvas then stood up.
