Was Deontay Wilder ever KO'd, hurt or stopped as an amateur?

    They all have been stopped as well at Ams. Helenius at pros has definitely proven he has at least Decent chin thou.
    I think Helenius lost stopped as well by some rough Eastern European.:twisted:

    Generally those amateur KO losses are technicalities, occuring as a result of one guy falling way behind on points. If not this, the KO's are actually TKO's caused by a guy being staggered a couple times, even though he's not really hurt.

    I've been following boxing for a long time, and in my experience -- with heavyweights at least -- if an amateur guy is floored, seriously and repeatedly hurt by power punches, or put down for a ten count, that's evidence of a durability problem. The problem will follow him into the pros.

    Remember the early years when we were arguing on this board about whether Wlad could take a punch? We had no evidence to go by. Ominously, his amateur background included a one round KO loss to a Dutchman. That loss presaged Wlad's eventual exposure as someone who has an average to below average chin.

    My guess is that Wilder will prove to have a fatal durability problem. Unlike Wlad, however, Wilder will not be able to cover this vulnerability with dominant boxing/puncher tactics and brutal KO power that makes mincemeat out of anyone who gets within punching range (which is how Wlad successfully protects his weak chin).

    Just my guess.

    I think the chin issue is why Golden Boy is keeping Wilder under wraps, staging his bouts in the backwoods, and keeping him away from decent foes.

    Ya gotta get inside his long Sasquatch arms and throw a hook right before
    he tries to hug you so you can't hit him!! Left hook is the best but either one
    will put him to Sleepy Time!!

    After Stiverne exposes Beyonce, even Butterbean will be begging him for
    a fight to pad his record with, yes a 50 year old 320 pound Butterbutt and
    everyone else in the division...

    Beyonce will try to regroup, smash some more Pizza Boys and try for
    another big payday but will end up a Tomato Can like the ones he use to
    love to beat up on... After he blows all his money, maybe one day he'll
    have to apply to Dominos to become a Pizza Delivery Boy like most of the
    guys on his impressive knockout record are!!!
