Was Donaire over hyped or just got beat by an A-class fighter?

I think it's a bad style match up, Nonito played a technical game against a superior counter puncher and a true technician, I think he had the wrong gameplan. He should have been more aggressive, although I understand why he didn't because Rigo's straight left was just scary, if Donaire got careless (like he did when his eye got hit on the 12th) we could have been really hurt but after this fight I feel it's his only way of winning against Rigo.

All credit to Rigo, he really showed he's a true elite fighter in this one but no way is Nonito overrated by any reliable source (i.e. if you disregard the nuthuggers), Nonito is up there as well in talent and ability.

Donaire has been beating everybody in the style he's been fighting in and he had no clue of how to adjust. He never had to and his corner was just as lost as him. Here's another thing, Rigo has a long left hand like Pac. Fighters underestimate it's striking distance and it surprises them all the time.:bbb

I was surprised at Donaire's total lack of a plan B. When it became clear Rigondeaux was able to outbox him, he was unable to fall back on an alternate route of action.

This was actually already evident against Narvaez, when Nonito found out Omar had no plans of taking unnecessary risks, there was no other plan for him.

Too bad for Donaire, Rigondeaux had the superior skillset and speed to not just win but dominate.

No he was overrated before the loss I really think people go for personalities more than skills when rating fighters.

People saying Donaire was pure hype now are as stupid as the fanboys who thought he was unbeatable. His resume is no joke.

He dismissed Rigo for so long because he knew he wasn't good enough. Anybody who knows box knows he was overrated. . His opponents were either undersized or had been coming out of or into retirement...He would of been in a world of hurt had he not had stopping power.
He said he wants to finnish at welter..
He'd be finnished off at welter.
