Was Donaire over hyped or just got beat by an A-class fighter?

donaire would 100% get stopped in the rematch because he would have to take more chances, everytime donaire let his hands go he got punished.

He's definitely not all hype, but he is part hype. Fighters of his supposed caliber don't get dominated and completely outboxed the way he did. Clearly, he's not exactly what we thought.

Shane Mosley was god before he ran into Vernon Forrest and we all saw that there were some exploitable things to his game that, if tapped, would leave him completely befuddled and unable to adapt. I now view Nonito in that same light.

Great fighter, but there are different levels to even greatness. Rigondeaux went to a place in that ring and Donaire could not follow.

Donaire is not a hype, but he was overrated. He looked lost there against Rigondeaux. he had also a loss against Rosado Sanchez and he looked pretty average in some fights like against Vasquez Jr. He is a legit great fighter, but was overrated in my opinion.
