Looking back at the fight, Donaire's body didn't seem defined and it looked like he was weight drained. Fighters that are weight drained have a supreme disadvantage come fight night. Canelo was weight drained against Mayweather, Chavez against Vera, and Alvarado against Provodnikov are some recent ones. I hope they can make Donaire vs Rigondeaux at 126 for next year so we can have a better understanding of how these two rank.
He always looks weight drained but with a bloated face. Guys who have to cut a lot of weight tend to swell up around the face as they rehydrate. Oscar in the Forbes and Pac fight also was puffy.
He always looks like that. He had the wrong gameplan. He was trying to counter a superior boxer and let the fight slip away. Basically fought a similar fight Guerrero fought against Mayweather. You can't beat a superior boxer that way. He should have pressured from the opening bell. That would have improved his chances.
he's always been like that http://2l7kr2xl4t7418ewd3w7ur01d2m....loads/2012/02/Donaire-Vazquez-Jr-results2.jpg That's his first fight at 122
plus Donaire is a whiny little *****. He made every excuse in the book after the Rigondeaux fight. If he was weight drained, he would have mentioned it more than once
Pretty much every fighter is at least a bit weight drained. That's what happens if you want to cut weight in order to fight below your normal size.
Which is why I think he's going to be even better at 126. If Donaire beats Darchinyan and Rigondeaux beats Agbeko, then Donaire and Rigondeaux at 126 has to be made by Arum.
He wasn't weight drained, more like Win-Drained or Right-Eye-Drained after the fight. Best he can do is move on and hope people forget the schooling he took against a much better opponent.
