Was Duran the Best PFP Fighter in both decades ( 70's and 80's)

    At times, when Carlos is criticized it is for him waiting on Valdez. I mean the * by his name if it warrants is that he faced Valdez post Valdez' accident so it would have been nice to see those 2 wins pre accident, just sayin .....

    In the '80s, he does have the Leonard win. That was awesome.

    Other than that, his best wins were over Davey Moore and Iran Barkley.

    That's not enough for fighter of the decade.

    Leonard had wins over Duran, Hearns and Hagler.

    There's your fighter of the decade as seen my many experts.

    And, the '70s fighter of the decade was probably Ali.

    Ali dropped a few but faced a higher level of competition overall. Even more if you regard the Norton fights as robberies. Ali fought better competition, Duran was more dominant. Arguments can be made both way.

    Who did Duran beat in the 70s that made him the best fighter of the decade? Any Atgs or future atgs. It cant just be for being dominant in his own division as there were numerous fighters in the decade that were dominant in their own weight class.
